Celebrating Alien at 45

Alien, Ridley Scott's 1979 sci-fi, horror masterpiece that kicked off one of the greatest film franchises is turning 45. To celebrate, 20th Century Fox will re-release the original film, digitally remastered, in theaters for a limited run on April 26th (a nod to the mysterious LV-426 moon in the movie). If you can see it on the big screen, don't hesitate. It is a breathtaking, exhilarating experience made possible only by the theater experience.


The film was both a box office smash hit and critically acclaimed. It won the Oscar for Best Effects, Visual Effects, and was nominated for Best Art Direction.


The Harold and Maudecast did a retrospective on the entire Alien franchise, before either host Sarah Mason or Jake Essoe had seen it on the big screen. This episode was
