And the nominees are...

It's that time again! Hollywood award season. Where the same five celebrities dress up and watch one of them win every award for the season.

The Hollywood Foreign Press announced their nominees for The Golden Globes as did the Screen Actors Guild, The Critics Choice Awards and The AFI Awards. As always, pretty similar nods across all the ceremonies.

A couple of our favorites for 2016 made the lists, Stranger Things and SING STREET, but several were snubbed. Here's the list of Golden Globe nominees, our picks and a few write-ins.

Our Pick: “Sing Street”

We first saw Sing Street at the Audi Dublin Film Festival and fell in love with this witty, charming and oh-so smart comedy about a teenage boy in 1980s Ireland who puts a band together to get a girl. It's a true gem.

Our Pick: Write-in - Taika Waititi - "Hunt for the Wilderpeople"

One of our highest rated films of the year, Hunt for the Wilderpeople is a beautifully crafted story from the brilliant mind of Taika Waititi best known for starring in and directing "What We Do in the Shadows". Since he is the director of the upcoming "Thor: Ragnarok", we assume Hollywood has noticed him--big miss on this one though.
